Feminist initiatives in Sudan – A Story of Resilience, Resistance, and Solidarity

This research documents and analyzes feminist initiatives in Sudan, focusing on the experiences of women in grassroots efforts amid conflict, violence, and displacement. Using a qualitative approach, including remote interviews, focus groups, and literature reviews, the study highlights how these women’s groups address needs, resist intimidation, and challenge war and peace narratives. Key findings show that despite facing significant challenges, Sudanese women’s initiatives are crucial for advocating gender-inclusive peace, providing humanitarian aid, and driving long-term societal change. The research identifies barriers such as exclusion from decision-making and inadequate funding, emphasizing the need to support and invest in these grassroots efforts to enhance their impact and resilience.
